Make a memorable moment; something that keeps you feeling interested in the world and what it has to offer.

What experiences have you had that define how you see yourself? How you want to see yourself? When you meet someone new, what are the stories you are excited to share?

I've snorkeled with sharks

I am fascinated by sharks. The variety in size, shape, temperament, habitat, diet, etc. In my pre-teen years, I snorkeled with a juvenile hammerhead in a man-made lagoon in Florida. At the time we were roughly the same size, and the shark swam with me as though to create a school...Until I touched its back and it fled.

While visiting Freeport in Grand Bahama Island at eighteen years of age, I had only one goal - snorkel with reef sharks. I took my gear to the beach and oriented myself to a lone diver, following fish across the sandy bottom...And I swam off the continental shelf. It was dizzying (I had SCUBA training, but hadn't completed my certification), but I had found the sharks. They rose is a funnel before me in the dark water. I didn't dare infiltrate their numbers. Watching them in the open water was the most exciting, terrifying experience before I swam back to shore.
