Did you know that February is considered Creative Romance Month? If you're looking for an excuse to write something saucy, now could be the time! Whatever your style of steamy, there is definitely an audience waiting. Subgenres and their respective microgenres within the Romance category stretch to the horizon.
A general rule is: If you're interested in writing it, chances are good that there is someone interested in reading it; and vice versa. With the internet providing a platform for / access to millions of independent authors and their works, it's relatively easy to engage with like-minded communities. Finding your next beta reader or favorite story might require just a few Boolean operators.
People try to "gatekeep" writing and reading as they do other activities, but art is subjective and your creative expression / personal taste is worthwhile. Write and read what you enjoy!
