Writing Prompt - June 2025

Summer! True, not many jobs offer 'summer break', but the nine-year-old child in my heart still considers summer to be the most exciting season. I plan most of my vacations during June, July and August because I'm generally more active in warm weather, which I prefer for my adventures. I enjoy spending time outside, and I want to be comfortable in the environment.

I opened the windows and set up my outdoor writing space as soon as the temperature touched 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

So many things vie for our attention during the day - work to be done, errands, household chores and projects, social media, hobbies - that it's easy to feel distracted or overwhelmed. Beginning my day with a self-care activity helps me settle into a constructive mindset and keeps me productive longer. Whether that's a walk, a workout, or adding music to menial tasks, I accomplish more when I've first done something that makes me feel good. I need to hype myself up for the day!

What do you use to unlock your potential and stay focused? Are there weather-dependent / environmental factors that impact your productivity? Knowing what motivates you and understanding what you need to thrive are crucial in pursuing your goals.
