This winter, I experienced fourteen inches of snow that buried my yard over a single weekend, icicles the length of short swords that threatened harm as they cracked & crashed, and negative temperatures that made stepping out my door dangerous. As uncomfortable as I am in the cold, I don't think I'd enjoy living somewhere that didn't experience traditional four-season cycles. I love watching the weather, smelling the changes in the air, going sledding & playing in snow. That's not to say I'm not thrilled that spring has arrived. A bit of green is already returning to my garden, and I didn't need to wear a woolen cape outside today.
I need those external differences to reset my brain every so often.
Whatever you're working on, don't forget to observe World Backup Day on March 31st. Save your materials in a few places - local files, cloud storage, external hard drives - so you never lose your progress. Learn from those of us who've accidentally deleted a scene or lost a WIP due to a computer crash. And everyone who saved their original files on media that became obsolete (I still have my floppy disks containing my first drafts), I see you <3.
